8th Grade Art and B117 Visual Art Beginning

Continue Mondal Unit- extended it through this week (last week got a bit crazy so we will for sure finish this up by the end of the week.
- Will go over some colored pencil and marker techniques this week if you want to add color to it.

- November 29 deadline for early Visual Arts portfolios submissions to get early results.

Goals for this week:
- Continue "Choose Your Own Art-venture" (link is fixed;-) should have up through Space completed by the end of the week.
  - Remember to show evidence of Brainstorming, sketching, research, collect source images, etc.
  - Make sure you get All work in on Google Classroom asap
    - the work for this week will be going on to next quarter's grades.

Ceramics Beginning- (1A and 2A)

Slab Building Unit (week 2 of 2)
- Make Texture container by end of week.
- Note: Ceramics Basics Quiz this week. Anything from the "Ceramics Basics Unit", Slab, Coil, and Pinch Pot units are fair game for the quiz.

Ceramics IPA (B4)-

Start Pinch Pot Unit - Complete the Advanced instructions
- Project as a whole due end of week.

Metals and Fibers IPA & Sculpture IPA-

Continue Paper Pop-up Unit Due end of next week
What should be done before/by end of the week:
- Planning-brainstorming, research, source images collected, sketches)
  - Moquette- not required but a good idea if you're planning something more complex to test pop-up mechanisms; if you tape it together, you could disassemble it and use the pieces as templates for the nicer materials for your project.
- Be started on the more complex parts of your project and have a plan to adjust if needed.

AP Art History

Unit 2.3 outline Complete Unit 3 Cards by end of the week- I know it's a quick turn around, can also use the weekend to get caught up.

2. Fall Art Show- Entries Due Friday Oct. 15

Fill out Entry Form for EACH piece you enter
Must enter at least 1 piece you've made this year, can enter up to 3 pieces (extra pieces, will excuse missing Daily Work Assignments)

Progress reports going out this week- if you don't have anything turned in for Ms. Schmit's or Mr. Wilson's expect a 50% for progress report.

You have till Friday to get work turned in before progress report goes out.

- 2. Submit at least 1 art project made during this class for the student art show by Friday deadline.
  - Enter your work under Ms. Schmit or Mr. Wilson - whom evers instructions you've been following.
- 3. Go back and polish up or make a more refined version of one of your previous projects given for this class.

If you've been following Willson's Directions- keep doing so, just let us both know which you're doing ;-)
Take a day this week to get work caught up and uploaded to Google Classrooms
Next week we'll continue the"Choose Your Own Art-venture" series with the Element of Art: Form. If you get everything caught up, go ahead and start on this so you can get some extra
- Make sure you are completing all parts of instructions or you will risk losing some major points later when we grade your work- just a heads up.
- Make sure you are collecting images of your progress and organizing them in a google doc of your choice. Be ready for more instructions for what to do with them next week.

Ceramics Beginning- (1A and 2A)

Coil Building Unit
- Complete Main Coild Project by the end of the week. Make sure you upload progress images at the end of each work days
- Big Coil Project Due Fri. Oct. 8th

Ceramics IPA-

Continuing Contrast Container Unit.
- Project due at end of the week- Thrus. Oct. 8th, plan wisely!
  - Take progress images at the end of each class and upload to daily work assignment on canvas
  - If you think you'll get done early plan to make a set or start thinking of how to make design more intricate as you work on it.

Metals and Fibers IPA & Sculpture IPA-

Paper Sculpting Unit
- Sculpture: Paper Project Due at the end of this week Fri. Oct 15th
- Metals/Fibers: Paper Prj. Due Mon. Oct. 18th by end of class.
  - keep in mind Wednesday is an early release day.
  - If it looks like you'll complete it early or late start applying your contingency plan- you are expected to utilize full building time given.

AP Art History
