Basic Visual Language to know and apply:
Describe, Analize, Interpret, Evaluate (aka Judge); What works well? What and how could things improve for next time?

How to Self Critique

1. Watch the videos to understand what a Critique is and why artists use them.

2. Complete a HAND-WRITTEN Critique
  • Decide which piece in your mini-portfolio you think is your very best and tell us why.
  • Title it “Critique of My ______________” (Fill in the blank with your title or description.)
  • Write at as much as you can (1 paragraph for each section of the guided questions below is ideal) explaining why this is your best piece so far.
    • Convince us why this is your very best work!
    • Add details to your answer by using your art vocabulary and explain how it relates to the piece you chose.
    • Grade level appropriate introduction, supporting facts, and a conclusion are expected.
