Tips for Becoming A More Efficient Learner

Taking Better Notes

If you are taking notes just because a teacher is making you... 
have you ever thought about why the teacher is making you? 
Handwritten notes are the shortcut to remembering information for a longer period of time. They may take more time at the front end of learning; however, you'll have to spend less time reviewing and repeating the information to put it in your long term memory. Taking notes is also a way to help stay focused and engaged, especially if you get distracted easily. If you don't like writing as much, try incorporating drawings that illustrate the ideas instead of just writing them down. These videos go over the why's and a few how's for taking notes. These are not the only ways to take notes. It really comes down to finding a way that works for you, if these don't work for you just keep trying new tips and tricks as you find them.
