Instructions for Monday 5/18

Hey guys! I'm going to be out today. If you end up staying in G124 just read and follow directions below. ONLY if you end up getting moved to a teacher's room, complete this assignment instead.

  • Grades- I'm updating them Monday May 18th and will update again Friday. 
  • Last Day for Glazing - Friday May 22 (must be in kiln room or it won't get fired)
  • Last day to take home artwork Friday May 29th (any work left will be considered abandonded and be recycled or clamed as examples)
  • Last day for Late/Regrade work - Friday may 29th
  • Schmit's "Final Exam" will be making a Portfolio and it can be turned in early if you want ;-)

NWSA Awards for Q2-Q3 Announcment

Thank you to everyone who helped students navigate the Google Form! We still have about 200 awards waiting to be claimed.  To ensure every student receives their recognition, please note the following:
Action Items
  • Google Form: Teachers please display the attached QR code/image in your room or on-screen for students who missed last week's pickup.
  • Deadline: Students must complete the form by next Thursday May 14th. After this date, unclaimed awards will unfortunately be recycled.
  • Final Follow-up: I will send one last reminder next week.
Distribution Process: Students do not need to go anywhere to collect their awards. To keep things simple:
  • I will sort all remaining awards by homeroom, based on the Google Form linked below.
  • Awards will be placed in Homeroom Teachers' boxes in the copy room next Friday Morning.

Place in Kiln room to start drying out. NOTE: last day to place in kiln room for firing is FRIDAY MAY 15th (this is a hard deadline so there it time for it to dry out and get fired before the end of the school year).

  • Fri 3/27: Complete this worksheet based on the YouTube video linked in the document. READ instructions carefully and get as far as you can by the end of class. Turn in on canvas at the end of class- especially if you are not finished! This will be your first Rehearse assignment for Q4.
  • Tues 3/31 and Thurs 4/2: Create Chain links - as many as you can with time given. There will be a demo in class on Tuesday. Prizes will be awarded for: Most links assembled, best craftsmanship, and Both Most links and best craftsmanship. 
    • Note: Be ready to start your Ceramic Celebrity Bust the day we get back from break. We're waiting till then to start just so your project doesn't dry-out over the break; be ready because you will only have a total of 5 classes to sculpt your project. The Chain Link assignment is leading into our last unit, Metal working, we'll be working with the rest of Q4 ;-)
