Level 2 Principles of Design
Booklet Project

Student Examples

The goals for this round of studying the Principles of Design are to review the basics, dig a little deeper into how they really work, and start to refine your understanding of how they work as a whole instead of just as seperate parts. They are the secret to creating much stronger artwork. These terms and skills are the secret to building a strong foundations in your art.  Understanding how the Elements can be used to represent and capture ideas is really where their true power resides. Remember, each time you revisit them you'll delve deeper into the understanding of the power they wield. If you pick up more than that awesome!

The Booklet

Note: as a class we'll complete one section for each Unit we work on. It's not recommended to try to get it all done at once. Remember to apply what you learn to the unit project.
Principles Booklet Directions:use the Principles of  Notes to complete one of the Options below. This is more than "just worksheets". Treat each part, each page as a composition. As long as you are accurately "Showing" and "Telling" what the vocabulary listed, you're doing it correctly!

Option 1: print out the Level 2 Booklets and complete all of the activities and prompts in it.

Option 2: create your own version of the Level 2 Booklets without printing it out

Option 3: Create your own booklet that has your own take on how to "show" and "tell" the vocabulary.

If you want to try something new, experiment with adding in the Turkish-Map-Fold. However, if you use it you'll probably need to figure out an alternative book structure to add it into your Elements Booklet.
