Important Stuff Coming Up

Everyone
- complete the Panorama Survey- click HERE and follow instructions. (should have filled this out in homeroom)
- High School Art show is up! Check it out - Click Here
- 5/19 Last Day for Late/Regrade work
- 5/23 Last day for Drop Off Materials and Collect work
Ceramics People
- 5/7 last day for Greenware
- Thurs/Friday can drop off greenwear in carpool line before (8:45-9:05) or after school (3:55-4:30).
- If you can't make those time you need to email/message me at least 24 hrs in advanced to drop work off
- Work can be dropped off whenever the school building is open to teachers (usually Mon, Tues, Thus, Fri 9am-4pm)

6th Grade

Tuesday: Learn about the Face Proportion Section of Portrait Unit
Thursday: Try completing the Face Proportion Section on your own

8th Grade:

Monday: Complete Nose and Ear sections of the Portrait Unit
Wednesday: Complete Mouth and Eye sections
Friday: Complete Frontal Proportions Section

Ceramics Beginning

Quick Video Reviewing Container Construction Techniques.
Monday (B)/Tuesday (A)- Coffin Project Container part should be done to be on track to finish ontime at this point. Have Main details Blocked in by end of class Today
Wednesday (B)/Thursday(A)- Have Main details Blocked in by end of class and be moving on to refining details
Friday(B)/Monday(A)- Last work day- Turn in final images of Coffin Project by end of class today!
Final Project Stuff

Ceramics IPA

Monday- Continue to practice burnishing and try "painting" on line designs on practice pot.
Wednesday- Make Final Maria Pot
Friday- Burnish Final Maria Pot (we'll decorate it next week)

Sculpture IPA

Monday- Group Progress Share and Continue Big Wire Project
Wednesday- Continue Big Wire Project Wire Unit
Friday- Last full work day for Wire project in class

High School Art Show

Submissions Due: Friday April 23, 2021

It's time to show off the awesome stuff you've been making! All High School Students in Visual Arts Classes need to submit 2-5 pieces for the annual NWSA Student Art Show. Submissions must be things you've made this school year and one must be a project you made for class. Yes it is for a grade! Late entries will lose points for this assignment. If you turn in more than 2 you'll earn some Extra Credit that will count towards Formal Grades.

Here are some links you'll need:

Class Work This Week . . .

6th Grade

Monday: Complete Ear Section of Portrait Unit
Wednesday: Complete Mouth Section of Portrait Unit
Friday: Complete Eye Section of Portrait Unit

8th Grade:

Tuesday: Finish and turn in Perspective Project
Thursday: Start Portrait Unit (be ready to work quick and focused)

Ceramics Beginning

Quick Video Reviewing Container Construction Techniques.
Monday (A)/Tuesday (B)- Coffin Project Plan of Action Due by end of class
Wednesday(A)/Thursday(B)- Work Day 1/5 on Coffin project- have main container body built/assembled by end of class.
Friday(A)- Work Day 2/5 on Coffin project- have main components of details formed in before end of class

Ceramics IPA

Tuesday- Make small Maria Pot and have burnished by end of class.
Wednesday- "Paint" linework on small Maria Pot

Sculpture IPA

Monday- Start Putting Plan of Action from Wire Unit into action and create the project you planned. Be prepared to pitch an idea during a small group work session. This is to help get your ideas ready to go and get some feedback or suggestions on how to make the project more successful.

Recap of Class Schedule Plan

When A/B Day Classes are happening is the same (it's the only thing that hasn't changed all year).
Everyone enrolled for In-Person Learning is expected to be on campus Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
Remote Wednesdays continue through May 5th
In-Person Attendance Policy- If you can't be on campus
- Attend Remotely AND...
- your parents need to contact Ms. Andrews to let them know why you can't be on campus so the "Absent" can be changed to "Present Remotely".

6th Grade

Tuesday: Complete Day 1 of Portrait Unit
Thursday: Complete Day 2 of Portrait Unit.

8th Grade:

Monday: Start Perspective Project day 1/3 (Slide 14)
Wednesday: Mini Lesson on Advanced Perspective Drawing
Friday: Continue Perspective Project Day 2/3 (due at the end of class Tuesday next week)

Ceramics Beginning

Monday (B)/Tuesday (A)- Intro Coffin Project and start PoA Part 1
Wednesday (B)/Thursday (A)- Start Coffin Project PoA Part 2
Friday(B)- Continue Coffin Project Part 2

Ceramics IPA

Monday (B)/Tuesday (A)- Intro Maria Pottery Unit and start PoA Part 1

Thursday- Weeks 1-4 should be completed and submitted on canvas for Formal Assessment by the end of class today.
