Week 36 - End of Year-We're almost there!

Inventory Google Form 1
Friday May 17 = Last day for Late/Regrade work- even if absent! and submitting anything that needs to be fired for Ceramics- if it's not in the kiln room by end of day it's too late!
Last day of Regular Classes Wed 5/22 (B Day) and Thru 5/23 (A Day)
- Take everything home by then! otherwise it will be considered abandoned and thrown out to make room for next year's work
Exams days - June 7th: Testing Schedule (will be blue when link's active
- Review materials will be posted by Thursday May 16th for each class listed below.
- School will be on early release schedule
  - Pay attention to what exams are on which days
  - ONLY students earn 80%+ on practice exam and have 80%+ in class overall, AND don't need to make up seat time - don't need to show up on the exam day (still counts as a regular school day for attendance though)

Friday 5/17: Get work from Gallery and Start End of Year Review
- Critique - Use link to critique your metal project, looking for 100 points worth of effort and application of Visual Language (sculpture vocab).

Tuesday 5/21: End of Year Review day 2
Thursday 5/23: Last regular class- take all work home! End of Year Practice Exam and Review

Wed. May 22: Last day of regular classes and End of Year Project Presentations during class - unless you guys want to come in on the exam day to give yourselves more time to work on it ;-)
B1 End of Year Exam: Monday June 3rd

B2 8th Grade Art- Main Paper Project due May 14th- Critique May 16th

Tues. 5/14: Main Paper Project DUE by end of class
- If everyone in class has 65% or better by end of class- deadline will be extended to Thursday

Thurs. 5/16: Glowforge Slides complete by end of class
Friday 5/17: durin A2 Visual Arts 8th Grade Celebration in media center. Must have an 80% or better in ALL classes by Thrus. 5/16 and teachers sign permission form - it's your ticket to the event!
Tues 5/21: Review day
- 8th Grade Review instructions and booklet are linked in the Notes (Focus on anything that says Beginning- it should say it's for 2D MMA and Printmaking but it really is for 8th Grade too)
Thurs. 5/23: Last day of regular classes and Practice exam and final review.

Targeted Tuesday- Check Grades/Canvas, get school work done/caught up, SSR time if everything is done and grades are up.
Wellbeing Wednesday- Explore the 7 Mindsets
Thinking Thursday- "How to School" tip of the week- Ms. Schmit will be checking your grades! remember she'll step in to help you if want or if you have <75% for any class. Share recommendations for Monday/Wednesday Videos with Ms. S.
Reflection Friday- Check Grades/Canvas, get school work done/caught up, SSR time if everything is done and grades are up. Focus Conferences with Ms. Schmit.

- Any work left after 6/7 is assumed to be abandoned and will be thrown out to make room for next years work

- Requirements:
  - Create Box Base (demo in class)
  - Add a Slits-Slot Tree (trace)
  - Add Basic House (Trace)
  - Embellish with all the other basic techniques seen in the link above.
  - Creative Challenge: Create a theme and/or decorate the box interior

Thursday: Finish African Masks with Clay works - brainstorm designs for warm up and then Underglaze. Submit images of your mask and warm up to the African Mask Project assignment on Canvas by end of class.
