Announcements

I have made Adjustments to...
Attendance Correction Procedure from now on you need to do one of the following
  1. Forward the Attendance confirmation email from the Attendance From for day you want corrected.
  2. Parent/guardian email me with the following information
  • In either Case I need the following info as well:
  1. Your Name (Jacobi Smith)
  2. Class (Ex: Sculpture Intermediate)
  3. Block Number/Letter (ex: 3B)
  4. Date that needs to be corrected
  • Why? Too many people were taking advantage of my trust. Also you should know how to complete attendance for my class after 9 weeks. The grace period is over for cutting people that much slack.
Weekly Work in Canvas
  • Only change is that Progress Images need to be uploaded daily from now on. I'm hoping this helps eliminate confusion on what/when it is due so less people forgetting to turn it in, and also have some more daily accountability for class work. This is how I monitor your progress with work since so much of it will span over several days. This is how I help you fix/avoid problems before the get out of control ;-)

Fix Your Grade Day 10/12-10/13

Last day for Late/Re-grade Work
Wed. October 14th

As the end of the quarter gets closer people start to notice their grades a lot more. Some are fine others not so much. For the ones that need improvement it's a bit late to fully make up the work but you still have plenty of time to bring them up substantially. Here's how...
Note: any score that is 50% means at least 1 of the following
  • You never submitted it successfully
  • Image files got corrupted- so I couldn't see them
How do you tell which it is for you? Open up the "Grades" part of the Canvas Course. Click on the assignment and you will see your submission (or lack of submission) and any comments made on your assignment

  1. Fix Formal Grades First: they will fix your grade more efficiently (less time and effort) than extra credit. Below are the "short cut's" to get them fixed:
    1. Who I Am Project (15 minutes)
      • If you have the project: take pictures of it and turn it in! Doesn't matter if it is finished or not JUST TURN IT IN! Let's be real you've had 6 weeks to "finish it" and you haven't, just turn it in!
      • If you don't have the project: Spend 10 minutes drawing a self portrait and upload an image of the drawing. That's it!
    2. What is Art (5 minutes)
      1. Skip the instructions and just answer the prompt: "What do you think art is?" spend at least 5 minutes on it!
    3. Zentangle Project (30 minutes)
      1. If you have the project: Take pictures of it and turn it in.
      2. If you don't have the project:
        1. Option 1: turn in last progress image you have of it
        2. Option 2: Watch and copy the 30 minute video (button above) but use/fill a sheet of drawing paper (make patterns bigger too ;-)
    4. Zentangle Project Discussion (10 minutes)
      1. Go complete both Day 1 and 2 Instructions, the instructions are at the top of the assignment.
      2. Note: Extra credit option with this turn in ;-)
  2. Fix Informal Grades: they won't be unlocked, but you can get some extra credit to help them out but more importantly
    1. Complete this week's Check-in and Progress Images Assignments are complete on time! Everyone who gets both done this week will get some extra credit!
    2. Extra, Extra Credit: Watch, take notes about, and turn in Inside The Labyrinth Documentary (The Making Of Labyrinth) 1986
      1. There will be an assignment on Canvas to turn it in ;-)
