General Anouncments

1. Wednesday October 13th PSAT (Bell Schedule) and Picture Day (Schedule)
2. Fall Art Show- Entries Due Friday Oct. 15 

• Fill out Entry Form for EACH piece you enter
• Must enter at least 1 piece you've made this year, can enter up to 3 pieces (extra pieces, will excuse missing Daily Work Assignments)

Class Work for this Week

Advanced Visual Art Sections:

• Continue work on Portfolio pieces, next one is due Oct. 25th
• If you need instructions for your Portfolio Proposal again click HERE.

7th Grade Art

• Progress reports going out this week- if you don't have anything turned in for Ms. Schmit's or Mr. Wilson's expect a 50% for progress report.
• Any student who has a 50% after Wednesday 10/27/21, will start the PEP process- The last chance to pass your major class, otherwise you will be expelled and cent back to homeschool.
• You have till Friday to get work turned in before progress report goes out. 

8th Grade Art and B117 Visual Art Beginning

• Fill out this form asap if you didn't last week!
• Continue Mondal Unit
  • Goal: have project completed by Friday so you could turn it in for school art show. If it's not finished you can take it home over the weekend to polish it up ;-)
• 8th Grade Audition Reminder
  • ALL 8th grade students who wish to continue at NWSA for High School MUST pass a High School audition AND must enter the lottery for the corresponding NWSA program!

• Goals for this week: 
  • 1- Get work caught up in Google Classroom
    • "Choose Your Own Art-venture" Re-read/Listen to the instructions and should be completed up to and including Shape.
  • 2. Submit at least 1 art project made during this class for the student art show by Friday deadline.
    • Enter your work under Ms. Schmit or Mr. Wilson - whom evers instructions you've been following.
  • 3. Go back and polish up or make a more refined version of one of your previous projects given for this class.

Ceramics Beginning- (1A and 2A)

• Slab Building Unit (week 1 of 2)
  • Complete notes and get main slab pieces for container assembled by the end of the week.
  • Note: there will be a quiz on all Ceramics Basics at the end of next week. Anything from the "Ceramics Basics Unit", Slab, Coil, and Pinch Pot units are fair game for the quiz.

Ceramics IPA (B4)- 

• Artist Statement Mini Unit
  • Monday- Read/listen through all 4 levels of artist statements; start writing an artist statement for your Contrast Container. Rough draft due by end of class
  • Wed- Respond to feedback and finalize artist statement and add images of final project.
  • Friday Critique

​Metals and Fibers IPA & Sculpture IPA-

• Artist Statement Mini Unit
• Read/listen through all 4 levels of artist statements; start writing an artist statement for your Paper Project. Rough draft due by end of class
• Paper Pop-up Unit
  • Complete up through Day ___ by the end of the week

AP Art History

• Tuesday: 2.2 Quiz
• Thursday: Start 2.3 Cards
