General Announcements

  • Early Release Day Wednesday: Bell Schedule 
  • Registration for Next Year
    • Fill out NWSA Visual Art Majors Audit  (it's an assignment on Canvas
  • ​Spring NWSA Student Artwork Showcase
    • Located in the NWSA Art Gallery just outside of the auditorium.
    • ​Soft opening March 8th 6-7pm, 
    • Big Closing Ceremony Saturday April 2nd 12:45-1:45, just prior to the Matinee performance of Sister Act. If people would like to stay and support the show, more info will be coming about when/how to purchase tickets. 
    • Gallery can also be accessed prior to any performance in the Auditorium as well.

Advanced Classes
  • If you meet in B117 with Mr. Raed- HE IS YOUR TEACHER, I'm also helping you out too. Any instructions he gives you, you are expected to follow as well!
  • Stuff Due by the end of the week:
    • 6th project planning
    • Artist Statement Essay Revision 1- If you haven't gotten your first one turned in yet, just email Ms. Schmit about what to do for this assignment.
    • Daily Work 3/7-3/11 (Read assignment description, Added a little more explanation to help everyone understand the expectations a little better.
B1 Metal/Fiber Arts
  • Monday's Warmup: Pick one article and take notes on the different types of adhesives, how to use them,  and what their best application is.

  • This week: complete your Repousse Project by end of class Friday.
B2 8th Grade Art
  • Monday: Last Day to Complete Parts 1-2 of Pop Up Unit.
  • Wed-Fri: start Part 3 as a class, you'll have till Friday to complete it and we'll start Part 4 Next week.

B4 Ceramics IPA
  • Monday: See where class is at with Chess Project (ready to move on? need more time? Etc.) 
  • Vote on next Unit
A1/A2 Ceramics Beginning
  • Tuesday- "Free" Project Critique: during class everyone will evaluate a peer's project. Use buttons up top to access basic rubric and guiding questions/topics. Expecting 1 paragraph for each Key, honest and considerate feedback, applying visual language (vocabulary). 
    1. Set up- place project and artist statement from warm-up at your seat; have everything else put away
    2. Trade seats and evaluate their project using the buttons linked above to help you give them detailed feedback. Write Critiqued By and your name on their paper
    3. Submit it for the Canvas Free Project Critique Assignment before you trade back.
    4. When you and your partner are finished: traid back, read what the person wrote and write a brief reflection at the bottom (what are you going to do with their feedback?) Continue working on project with any time left till the end of class
  • Thursday- LAST work day for Free Project- have in kiln room by end of class.
A2 AP Art History
  • Tuesday: Fix your grade day- evaluate your progress check FRQ's for Unit 5, work on test corrections for Unit4 exam, finish "cards". Last 20 minutes of class go over some shortcuts to a well written essay. Must be logged in to your school google account for this link to work: Quick Essay Tips
A3 Sculpture IPA
  • Continue working on Miniature Project. Progress check due by end of Class Thursday.
