End of Semester Information

• Last day for Late/Regrade work 1/17- if you talk to Ms. Schmit before then she might be able to extend it to the 19th. 
  • Focus on 0's if you want to improve your grade
  • read assignment descriptions before asking for help!
  • Anything that canvas will allow you to submit you can still turn in and/or resubmit by 1/17 for full credit. 

Midterm Exams for Ms. Schmit's Classes

• Review materials distributed and will take place the last 2 class periods before exam date.
• All exams are based on content covered in the class so far and will be multiple choice.

• 1/18 A1 and A2
• 1/19 B1 and B2
• 1/22 A3 and A4
• 1/13 B3 and B4

• Exam 1   7:15-8:45
• Exam 2   8:50-10:20
• Block 3   10:25- 11:15
• Block 4   11:20-12:10 (Grab’n go lunch)

A1/A2 Ceramics Beginning

• 1/3 Tuesday: Start Cup Unit: Cup notes, Space booklet, start planning for Big Project
• 1/5 Friday: Glazing Assignment and Cup Deeper Dive (slide4)
• 1/9 Tuesday:  Build Practice Cup (not the Big project yet, so keep it simple)
• 1/11 Thursday: Review Day 1/2
• 1/16 Thursday: Review Day 2/2
• 1/18 Exam Day: Show up and be ready to take exam (1/22 finalizing grades)

A3 Sculpture IPA- 

• 1/3 Tuesday: Fiber Arts Unit (Last Slide is Big Fiber Project Requirements)
• 1/5 Friday: Complete Big Fiber Project(BFP) PLANNING. 
• 1/9 Tuesday: Official 1st BFP work day 1/7 (due Feb 9th)
• 1/11 Thursday: Review Day 1/2
• 1/16 Thursday: Review Day 2/2  (1/18 mini review day and finalizing grades)
• 1/22 Exam Day: Show up and be ready to take exam

B1 AP Art History

• 1/4 Thursday: Unit 4 Review Doc and answers
• 1/8 Monday: Unit 4 Exam- on AP Classroom - 3 parts only start what you can complete in a sitting, have 1 week to get all 3 components done and self evaluate the FRQ's. Can retake through 1/17.
• 1/2 Friday : Midterm Review (with answers) Unit 1, Unit 2, and start Unit 3
• 1/17 Wednesday: Midterm Review, Unit 3 and spot check on Cards so far (including Unit 4), Midterm will also cover Unit 4 content ;-)
• 1/19 Midterm Exam Day: Show up and be ready to take exam (1/22 finalizing grades)

B2 8th Grade Art

• 1/4 Thursday: Composition Basics , How to make a booklet cover(scroll to the bottom), EoA Notes, EoA Booklet
  • ​Have the following artwork at school for next class:    
    • Blind Contour Drawing, Wizard Drawing, Grid Drawing Mandala Project, Perspective Project, Alternative Self Portrait, EoA Booklet and Cover
• 1/8 Monday: Computer Work Day. Complete as much of the list below by end of class. Directions are posted on slides linked below. Anything left unfinished should be submitted by Friday 1/12 at the latest.

• 1/23 Exam Day : Show up and be ready to take exam (1/19 mini review day and finalizing grades)

B4 Ceramics IPA

• Monday:  Glazing Assignment Template fill out and complete. Start researching the "history of the mug" (or cup) and do a deeper dive into at least 2 specific types of cups (from 2 different cultures). Intermediate students follow directions for Beginning Ceramics Cup project.

• Targeted Tuesday- Check Grades/Canvas, get school work done/caught up, SSR time if everything is done and grades are up.

• Thinking Thursday- "How to School" tip of the week- Ms. Schmit will be checking your grades! remember she'll step in to help you if want or if you have <75% for any class. Share recommendations for Monday/Wednesday Videos with Ms. S.
• Reflection Friday- Check Grades/Canvas, get school work done/caught up, SSR time if everything is done and grades are up. Focus Conferences with Ms. Schmit.
