General Announcements

• Ms. Schmit Absent Mon-Tuesday - instructions are below for class work
• Mid-Quarter Progress Reports are this week. Here are the reminders:
  
  • Turn in missing work by the end of the day Tuesday if you want it to be updated in time for the reports.
  • If assignments are locked in canvas it's too late to turn in.
    
  • All Rehearse and Perform assignments affect your grade the most and will stay open until 1/19 but don't wait till then to complete them!
  • Assignment scores should match between Canvas and PowerSchool BUT "Overall Grade" is calculated correctly in PowerSchool only.

Class Work

A1/A2 Ceramics Beginning- Shape and Form Unit

• Reminder- tile project needed to be complete before break
• Monday: 2nd Gallery Project -scroll down for more info
• Wednesday: Form Booklet due by end of class- Notes and Booklet Link look for Level 3 button to find the notes and a copy of the booklet (jus re-create it best you can on your own paper)
• Friday: Intro Bas Relief Tile mural Project (info linked in Shape/Form Unit)

A3 Sculpture IPA- Paper Project 2 Planning

• Monday: 2nd Gallery Project -scroll down for more info
• Wednesday: I'm still out today. Below are several options for exploring artists' work and what drives their ideas behind their work. I'm expecting you to spend the entire class time exploring them and document your journey. The more you document the more likely your score will be higher ;-) make it meaningful for yourself!

B1 Metals/Fibers IPA- Fiber Arts Coaster Experiment Unit

• Tuesday: Mis Schmit is Absent so work on Research section of the Coaster Unit for now- remember the goal is to understand and explore the history of fiber arts, how artists use this media to explore social/political/economic problems. Objective for doing this research is to get an idea of how you would like to approach some of these ideas with your Big Fiber Arts Project.
• Thursday: Continue Coaster Experiment Unit. Due by end of next week. Be on the lookout for a template to submit this assignment then as well.

B2 8th Grade Art- Value Unit, Face Unit

• Note: Shattered Value project- will continue working on it when Ms. S is back for now focus on the stuff below...
• Tuesday: Face Unit- READ EVERYTHING HERE AND IN THE SLIDES! Start with slide 1 and start working your way through each slide. Should get complete through slide 4 by end of class today.
• Thursday:  Ms. S will likely be back- we'll wrap up the Shattered Value Project and get it turned in by the end of class.  

B4 Ceramics IPA- IPA 3D Tile Project

• ​Tuesday: Ms. S will be out  so work your way through each slide on the IPA 3D Tile Unit Slides- try to get through slide 3 by end of class.
• ​Thursday: Ms. S will likely still be out so continue and complete slide 4 by end of class. Remember- expecting your booklets to look more like an art project than just "notes", if you end up completing everything go back and work on the designs on your booklet more (refine and add more details and designs to show off your personality with them more) Be ready to start your practice tile next class Ms. S should be back by then)

• Collect and take home your report card if you haven't already
