Last week of Q1 - all classes will be working on "fixing grades" this week (mostly just Monday and Tuesday)

AP Art History - Calendar - Cards Submission Template - R.W 250 Sheet

Cards Due This week: 61-70
Mon 10/27: Finish Unit 3: Lecture 11 Lecture 12 and help edit R.W. 250 Sheet (#99-115) make sure: Date, Artist/Culture, Origin/Period, Size, and Themes are correct and in correct column; Then add image from SmartHistory.com (copy the "Image Location" into the image column/cell).
Wed 10/29: help edit R.W. 250 Sheet (#116-132) AND Fix your grade Day with remaining time.
Fri 10/31: Exploring some "Halloween" themed artwork - Gates of Hell, Rodin - Garden of Earthly Delights, Bosch; The Nightmare, Fuseli;
November: Start Unit 4 (will complete before winter break, after winter break we'll review for Midterms)

Ceramics IPA

Tues 10/28: Fix grade day and take artwork to gallery
- Upload images of project to: Robot 2 Peer Critique Document
Thur. 10/30: Peer Critique for Robot 2; Intro to "20 Questions" Sculpey unit (animal, mineral, Vegetable). Brainstorm and research; Planning (aka annotated journal) due by end of next class). Sculpture due before Fall Break. Handout with directions and information

Photography IPA

Mon 10/27: Fix your Grade day - make sure all grades are accurate and you have everything turned in
- Photo's for Student art Show Folder -add file of your photo(s) you'd like to be in the show. Follow this format: title-name.jpg (ex: self_portrait-Schmit.jpg)
Wed. 10/29: Mood and Light Mini Lesson
Fri. 10/31: Mood and Light Class - Before starting photo Shoot complete this sheet

Fri 10/31: Mini Lino Plate due by end of class - can start printing experiments when ready.

Sculpture IPA

Tues 10/28: Fix grade day and take artwork to gallery

Last day for Late/Regrade work: This Friday 10/24!
- All assignments posted on Canvas are going on Q1 (only exception is the Photography Deep Dive)

- Permission slips and fee were due by end of day last Wed. 10/15
- Students not on trip: instructions for Rehearse classwork listed under "classwork".
- Students going on trip:
  - @ 9:00am Meet in Bus lot under the awning (or Cafeteria if bad weather)
  - Leave personal belongings in B106 - can take something to take notes with but everything else stays in at school.
  - will have worksheet you need to complete and submit afterwards.

  - Exam FRQ Feedback - recommend only focusing on the Simplified Feedback link
- Cards Start with this weeks and work backwards! Drawing and identification information will at least get you 70%. Can always resubmit when you get more done as you have time to do so.

Ceramics IPA - 3D Design - "Robot" Unit

Mon. 10/20: Continue "Robot 2" - work day 5/7 working on details
- Ceramics- How to sculpt out details (pay attention to how the story behind his sculpture and requirements are driving his design choices)
- Sculpture- Painting basics Video - Painting 1 hr, 10hr, and 100hrs Video (Pay attention to how she uses the basics in each version)
Wed. 10/22: "Robot 2" work day 6/7 - Continue details
Fri. 10/25: "Robot 2" work day 7/7 - last day in class to work on robot - Be ready to submit images on this google doc (even if incomplete) last 15 minutes of class. We'll do more with google doc next class.

Photography IPA - Advanced Composition Unit

Tues. 10/21: Photography Artist Deep Dive Assignment - both for students on Field Trip or staying on campus - be sure to read and follow directions. Should take minimum of 45 minutes! if you take less - re read the directions or expect a very low score. This is will be the 1st Rehearse assignment for Q2
Thur. 10/23: Adv. Comp - Prj 1: Self Reflection Doc - apply feedback given from last critique (check comment on Canvas Critique assignment)

Printmaking IPA - Zentangle Collagraph Project

Tues. 10/21: Work on Texture rubbing of Main Collagraph Project - Video Example - NO PRINTING TODAY (email me if you want to come in Wed or Thurs during dragon time to print).
Thur. 10/23: complete Peer Critique and submit your slide to Canvas Project and Critique Assignments
- Read and follow instructions Class Critique Google Slides Doc -
- You will be assigned a slide number to evaluate then use Critique Worksheet to evaluate and add link to the bottom of your peer's slide. If you're absent see, Ms. Schmit for further instructions

Grades were current as of 2nd block last Friday. Check Parent/Student Square for information

- Check parent square for information and digital version of permission slip.
- Photography students were given announcement on Friday 10/10
- We'll but will open up to other Visual Arts Students starting 10/13- look for another Parent Square announcement then.

Fall Student Art Showcase is coming up!
- Submissions due Friday Oct. 24th - Must submit 1 item you’ve made in class
- can submit up to 3 pieces (others can be anything made last 12 months that’s not been in the school art show)

Tues 10/14: "Robot 2" Work day 3/7 (reminder just need to make something out of slabs and meet all of the requirements listed in the Robot Unit under planning 2)
Thurs. 10/16: "Robot 2" work day 4/7 - should have most of the basic shape of details blocked in by end of class. If you're getting close to "finished" or way behind check in with Ms. Schmit about how to adjust your project so you work within the time frame given for the project.
Next week focus on adding smaller details and refining them more
