Announcements

NEW 1st block tardy policy/procedure starting enforcement 9/9. Be sure to get notes/late passes from people at scanners.

Upcoming Events
- Festival In the Park Entrees Due September 13th (something 2D you made last year or over the summer)- it is a juried exhibition. That means they will have awards and prizes - great for building resumes ;-)
- NWSA Portfolio Day Friday Sep. 20th 9am-12:30pm in the Media Center
- National Portfolio Day Sunday Sep. 22nd 12pm-4pm @ NWSA in the Gym

Classwork

A1/A2 Ceramics Beginning

Wednesday:
- Start Social Contract Activity "Read What is it?" and "Why do we need to make one?" then complete Part 1 on your own for Warm-up -Don't work ahead if you want to avoid extra work;-)
- Go over how to submit class Rehearse and Perform assignments.

- Unit 1- Ceramic Basics: Part 1 (Clay Recycling Relay Race), Part 2 (basic cleaning procedures)
Friday: Unit 1: Start Part 3 (basic building techniques Pinch Pot, Coil, and Slab building and Mini Bowls assignment- spend 1 day each technique)

A3 Sculpture IPA

Wednesday: Go over how to submit class Rehearse and Perform assignments.

Tuesday- last day to work on Who I Am Project in class (have rough draft and final draft ready to submit at the beginning of next class) (sorry! I got last work day wrong last class it is due at end of class for real today)

Thursday- As a class we'll go over how to turn in everything for the Who I Am Unit

What we're doing this week:
All classes (except AP Art History and Homeroom) have basically the same things going on this week:

Monday/Tuesday: Intro to Class
- Syllabus
- Parent/Guardian Syllabus Digital Signing Form I
- Who I Am Project Intro, rough-draft completed by end of class (otherwise it's homework - have completed before next class)
Wednesday/Thursday: Social Contract Activity and continue Who I am Project (start on Final-Draft, due by end of next class)
Friday/Monday(next week): Last day for Who I Am Project. Complete by end of class otherwise it's homework. Be ready to turn in at beginning of next class.

What All Classes need every day: Chromebook, something to with, paper (can be a sketchbook- nothing larger than 9x12)
- Recommend investing in a mouse for your chromebook
Supply Lists: none, donate to our booster instead! The school and Visual Arts Booster makes sure all students have what they need for art projects. Please make a donation of $25/Visual Arts Class students are taking to help us continue to make sure we have what we need.
