Principles of Design

The principles of design describe the ways that artists use the elements of art in a work of art. If the Elements are like ingredients think of the Principles as different recipes you can make with those ingredients.

P.o.D. Booklet Project Overview

General Instructions:
  • Check Canvas and the Class Blog for info on what is due when.
  • Get/print a copy of the booklet pages on 8.5x11 in paper or use your own paper to make a unique one! Think of them fancy worksheets.
  • The notes will help you understand the information that needs to be in them and how to do the drawing activities in the booklet. Booklets are organized by level of understanding.
  • Each level goes a little more in depth for each Principle and expectations for quality of work increases as well.
  • If you have already been introduced to the Principles keep all of them in mind when creating your designs throughout the entire booklet.
Evaluation of Work:
  • As long as you are showing improvement you are doing great! Remember it's the Keys To Success: Skill, Craftsmanship, Creativity, and Effort that will help you get your skills up to the next level.
